Retake: Post Production Feedback

For part of this piece of work I had to do, we had to evaluate and get feedback on my media products. For gathering my feedback, I asked people from the age group of my target audience what they thought about my magazine as a whole and individually. Most of the people I asked said that they like the continuity throughout my magazine, this meant that they liked the colour schemes, fonts and general style of my magazine. Although the majority of the males that gave me feedback said that my magazine seemed as if it was abit feminine. These comments made me realise that the fonts I used in my magazine, came across as feminine, aswell as adding abit of class to my magazine. If I was to do this again, I would maybe either change the colour scheme of my magazine or the fonts I used that were italic as such. For my front cover, most of the female audience said that they like the overall style of the magazine and it looks very glamorous and sleek. The maleaudience also said they like the front page of my magazine as the model was 'attractive' . I agree with both of these comments and I think that the use of my image will entice my male audience into buying my magazine if it was to be sold in a shop, as my model has an appealing look for both male and females, so it shows that the way in which I used my image to attract my audience worked. My target audience also said that they liked my masthead as it was different but still distinguishable if they was to look for in on a shelf in a shop. They also said that they like the fact that the main parts of my front cover are different, and that they would buy my magazine due to the fact that it shows off it is different. One thing my audience criticised about my front page, as the fact it looked a bit empty, they said that the space inbetween the picture and the masthead could have had something such as another coverline on it. I disagree with this as I used thespace left on the magazine to show the importance of the magazine and the artist shown on the front page, and if I was to add another cover line, it would either go across my models face or make my front page look too cluttered. Although if I was to do this again, I may use another type of picture which will make it easier to fill out my front page. For my contents page, most of my audience said they liked it, they said it looks professional. They said they like the editors note, as it shows that the magazine is taking into consideration th e audience and not just leaving them to my magazine, but the and editors note gave my magazine a hint of personality and consideration to the audience. Although one person said, that they do not like the image of the male artist in my magazine as the image looks abit squashed. I do not agree with this, but if I was to do this again, I would take another picture of my male artist so it does not look squashed. As formy double page spread, the views were all positive, my target audoience said they enjoyed reading the content of the interview, they likes the layout, the image and the fact I used the same font style in my front page for my double page spread heading. I agree with all of these comments, but if I was to do it again, I would want my contents page to have abit more style in it, such as a background picture of some sort, to make my double page spread not look as empty as it does.
